A note about our nice Patagonian wheather
Success will always depend, in great measure, on the climatic factors and the conditions of the terrain. The weather in this area is very unstable and unpredictable; you must be prepared for “wild” weather conditions and accept that we will do our best to achieve our goals.
For some of our programs, we take one extra day to improve the chances of a successful trip.
Our Mountain Guides will have the final call to modify partially or totally the programs..

STEP BY STEP DETAILS

DAY 1 (PASO SUPERIOR)

Trek from El Chaltén (450 m 1476 feet a/s/l) towards “Laguna de los Tres” (1200 m or 3937 feet a/s/l), it will take us about 4 hours. Then we will ascend the “De los Tres” glacier to reach “Paso Superior” (or Upper Pass, at 1850 m or 6069 feet a/s/l). Climbers use this pass as one of their approach base camps when climbing Mount Fitz Roy. We will build a snow cave to sleep in and shelter us from wind and bad weather. The activity takes approximately a total of 8-10 hours. Meals: Box Lunch and Dinner.

DAY 2 (PASO SUPERIOR)

We will explore the glacier at the base of Mount Fitz Roy (4-5 hours), enjoying magnificent panoramic views. Weather conditions allowing, we will stay overnight at the snow cave. Meals: Breakfast, Box Lunch and Dinner.
