A note about our nice Patagonian wheather
Success will always depend, in great measure, on the climatic factors and the conditions of the terrain. The weather in this area is very unstable and unpredictable; you must be prepared for “wild” weather conditions and accept that we will do our best to achieve our goals.
For some of our programs, we take one extra day to improve the chances of a successful trip.
Our Mountain Guides will have the final call to modify partially or totally the programs..

STEP BY STEP DETAILS


We´ll depart early in the morning from El Chaltén to Lago Del Desierto (600 m or 1968 feet a/s/l), situated 38 km (24 miles) away, by vehicle. Once there, we will head up to the base of the glacier passing by “Laguna Huemul” (1 hour walk). From there, we will continue roped in, using crampons and ice axe, towards the summit (2146 meters or 7040 feet). The ascent takes about 6 or 7 hours from the parking area, plus another 3 or 4 hours to descend. We will drive back to El Chaltén later in the afternoon.
